Schools out!
WWOOOOOHHHHOOOOO!
My O my! 3 days, 6 hrs of sleep and a 3 day, 2 night stay at school. Finally, I have to say, I really enjoyed the work (I know it sounds weird!) but I learnt about chromosomes, genes and how a small fraction of our genetic make-up that lives an extremely tiny and finite life changes what we would be for the entire life time...
I have to say, the human body is incredible!
For those who are thinking: what the blinking hell am I on about?, I did my thesis on using osteoporosis research done so far on Earth in space to see why our bones go weak and what all clinical treatments can be used?
I have heard all these terms and treatments - HRT, PTH and other TLAs which make doctors on ER sounds like they know a lot, but never knew what exactly they mean and what the side effects can be. When one looks at the human body -its such a complex machine, I would love for some one to map out (and this is going to sound absolutely and utterly geeky!) all the signalling pathways as a control system.
We understand so little about our bodies, its worrying! God (if he did shape us all with his own fair and godly hands), should have really provided us with a user's manual - would have helped...
anyhoo, if anyone is interested, I can forward the paper to you - I enjoyed researching this subject, especially because it was kind of preparing for my work on the possible 'gene sequencing' cup at the internship. so, yeh, its finally in....
I was finally leaving university and almost feeling guilty for ditching the couch I had been sleeping on; and found a crate of beer left on behalf of the university (Cheers guys, we love you all!) : I had to oblige - felt like quite an alcoholic enjoying a beer all by myself!
I get home, my heads still in the fuzzy state, I start reading my new book and finally my body gives in to some very well deserved sleep: I slept more in the daytime nap than I had for all of the previous 3 days! craziness.
now off to town for some 'getting completely messed up!' ! :-))
